How we calculate Canada eligibility

Our Canada calculator follows official rules:

   1. Identify the 5-year qualifying period

   Count backward 5 years from application date.

   2. Calculate days as PR

   Days from your PR date to application date that you were inside Canada. Each = 1 credit.

   3. Calculate pre-PR days (half-credit)

   Days inside Canada from period start to PR date. Cap at 365 days. Each = 0.5 credit.

   4. Total credits

   PR days + 0.5 × min(pre-PR days, 365). Need ≥ 1,095.

   5. Apply verdict

   Green if ≥1,095. Amber if within 30 days. Red if shortage > 30.
